On Friday, March 16 FiberOptic.com and The Fiber School participated in a re-entry event at SCI Quehanna state facility. Over 500 inmates got the opportunity to learn about fiber optic networks, smart city development and the increased convergence of fiber and wireless.
FiberOptic.com has been working with the state of Pennsylvania and in conjunction with the state, our Certified Fiber Optic Installer course is being taught in several facilities across the state.
The goal of the program is to provide basic skills in fiber optic installation, familiarization with the tools and equipment. With the explosive growth in fiber and a need for technicians across the state and around the country this program could be the second chance that many of these inmates desperately need.
If you are interested in learning more about this program or hiring graduates from SCI Quehanna Bootcamp contact Sonny Hunt at sonny.hunt@fiberoptic.com.
