Sonny Hunt has been working in the data and telecommunications industry for over four decades. Sonny’s background encompasses computer programming, database programming, computer sales, computer repairs, founder of a regional Internet Service Provider, Account manager for a major telecommunications company, Fiber To The Home integrator, and COO of the Adtell group of companies, including The Fiber School. Sonny was a trainer for Tandy Corporation (Radio Shack) for many years and helped with course design during his time there. Sonny was one of the few instructors authorized to teach the Unix operating system through the Santa Cruz Operation (SCO). Sonny began working with fiber optics in 1993 with the formation of FASTNET, one of the earliest Internet Service Providers in the United States.

Sonny possesses strong communication abilities, and extensive knowledge of fiber optic networks, equipment, and tools. Sonny serves as COO for FiberOptic.com, one of the first online distributors of fiber optic equipment, cable, and products. Sonny also works in the field testing and terminating fiber optic networks which he incorporates into all the courses offered through The Fiber School.
