We are seeking a motivated Splicing Technician to join our OSP team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and related telecommunication infrastructure, and plays a key part in ensuring efficient data transmission and network reliability. Success in this position requires strong technical knowledge of fiber optic network operations, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Perform initial splicing, testing, and certification of the fiber optic network
Utilize specialized equipment and tools to splice fibers and ensure low-loss connections
Assist with installation and configuration of network equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls
Perform network and fiber maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting in the field
Work with customers to diagnose and troubleshoot network problems
Perform OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) testing to verify splice quality
Document and track network repairs and upgrades
Provide on-site technical support for customers
Conduct site surveys and network assessments
Contribute to a culture of trust, integrity, and collaboration

Qualifications
1+ years of experience in telecommunications, network installation, fiber optic splicing, or related field
Strong knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques and equipment
Familiarity with optical fibers, connectors, and splice closures
Proficiency in fiber mapping and schematic reading
Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Proficiency in using OTDRs, fusion splicers, and other fiber optic testing tools
Understanding of telecommunication infrastructure and networking concepts
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the field
Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Valid state driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
Certification in fiber optics (e.g., CFOT) is preferred
