Tony Eng started his career in telecom in 1994.
His tenure in the telecommunications industry spans several eras, having worked under the evolving banners of NY Telephone, NYNEX, Bell Atlantic, and ultimately Verizon Communications.
Similarly, his career at Verizon has spanned several disciplines including aerial and underground, copper and fiber, maintenance, and home installation.
Tony was briefly an engineer working on the Proactive/Held for Cable database.
In May 2009, he earned an associate in applied science degree in Telecommunications from New York City College of Technology through the NEXT STEP program—a collaborative initiative between Verizon and the State University of New York (SUNY).
Throughout his career, Tony has been dedicated to empowering customers and clients to confidently embrace new technology. He also played a key role in training technicians transitioning across disciplines, from fiber splicing and troubleshooting to home installations. He now currently resides in Georgia.
Tony, earned a Certified Fiber Optic Technician Instructor certification with the FOA in 2024. He joined The Fiber School in 2025 and has become a certified instructor with the Electronics Technicians Association (ETA). With his years of industry experience and love for training, Tony is a perfect fit for The Fiber School.
