Since our inception, FiberOptic.com has provided expert fiber optic training through The Fiber School, helping students build technical skills and stay competitive in the information transport systems industry. From Fiber Optic Fundamentals to advanced field training, our courses prepare professionals for success today and in the future.

The Fiber School has trained and certified thousands of students worldwide, including those from Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and the military. Each program is continuously refined to ensure the content is current, relevant, and valuable.

The Fiber School is founded as a used fiber equipment dealer
1996-1999
The Fiber School becomes a leading online supplier of fiber optic equipment
2001
The Fiber School becomes authorized distributor for AFL, EXFO, JDSU, NetTest
2004
The Fiber School creates thefiberschool.com and becomes an authorized ETA training facility
2005
The Fiber School creates fiber installer course approved by ETA
2007
The Fiber School creates fiber outside plant course approved by ETA

The Fiber School develops a custom course for IBEW for windmill installations

The Fiber School redesigns and adds an advanced search function to Alumni Directory, where students can list their resume, skills, and experience
2017
The Fiber School adds 20+ jobs to Alumni Opportunities section, where TFS alumni can apply for installer-level and technician-level jobs in fiber optics and premise wiring
2018
The Fiber School upgrades its website, making it mobile-friendly and added features.
2019
The Fiber School moves its corporate headquarters from Breinigsville to Quakertown.
2020
The Fiber School kicks off its Remote Certified Training (RCT) program during a global pandemic. This new course structure allows students to become certified fiber optic installers from their own location, anywhere in the world (with an Internet connection). Students receive the lab materials, tools, and equipment to perform all the exercises at their own pace. Labs are led through detailed pre-recorded instructor-led video demonstrations.
2021
The Fiber School approved to offer ODM certification. We also added 8 new standard courses, and launched an Advanced Installer course, and, with the easing of some pandemic based restrictions, were finally able to return to instructor led training.
2022
The Fiber School launched revamped fiber technician course, began training in Newark, NJ, and hired Sam Mehanna as an International Instructor.
2023
The Fiber School returns to the middle east after the restrictions of a global pandemic lift, opening new classes in Dubai and new scheduling options for Lebanon. We also welcome 3 new instructors to the team, Ray Williams, Jim Birdsong, and Joshua Tawes.
