We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fiber Cable Install Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, splicing, and testing and troubleshooting fiber optic cable for commercial structured cabling projects. This is a hands-on field position ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, working independently, and delivering great customer service.<\/p>\n
-Install, splice (fusion and mechanical), and terminate fiber optic cable
\n-Pull and run cable via aerial, underground\/buried, and in-building methods
\n-Test and troubleshoot fiber lines using OTDR and power meter equipment
\n-Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and splicing diagrams
\n-Identify and resolve signal loss or connectivity issues
\n-Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and job tickets
\n-Provide clear, professional communication with customers on-site
\n-Follow all safety protocols, including work at heights and in confined spaces
\n-High school diploma or GED required
\n-1\u20133 years of telecom, cable, or low-voltage experience preferred
\n-Working knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and light loss\/signal principles
\n-Familiarity with copper cabling and basic electronics is a plus
\n-Valid driver’s license required; personal vehicle insurance
\n-Ability to lift 50\u201375 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
\n-Comfortable working at heights and in small spaces
\n-Strong troubleshooting, time management, and customer service skills
\n-Ability to work independently or as part of a small crew
\n-Must be able to pass a full background check with no prior records
\n-Must be able to work both day and night shifts with occasional weekend work and overnight travel.
\n-BICSI Installer 1\/2 or Technician certification
\n-Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification (CFOT preferred)
\n-OSHA 10 or 30
