The\u00a0Construction<\/strong> Technician\u00a0\u202fat\u00a0ASG\u00a0is responsible for assisting the Outside Plant (OSP) division in the construction of utility networks. This role is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at construction sites, along with assisting craft workers with their duties.<\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll do:\u202f(Including, but not limited to):\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Understand and practice all safety procedures in compliance with OSHA standards
\nCompletes all required paperwork and reporting in a timely manner as required by the company
\nAssist others with completing their skilled tasks more effectively; locate and verify all utilities before and during construction
\nClean and prepare the construction site for work, remove debris and possible hazards; Dig, place, and pull utility products as required
\nUtilizes hand tools to complete tasks as needed
\nPerform restoration back to existing conditions, place seed and straw
\nIdentify utilities and monitor digging by the dig crew to prevent utility hits
\nClean and maintain equipment
\nUnderstand the basic scope of the project and all aspects of OSP construction
\nRestock trucks with supplies and ensure the crew has the proper tools and supplies to complete the job
\nPerforms other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification<\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll need:\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

General\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
\n1+ years of experience in the utility construction industry a plus
\nAbility to identify and distinguish colors of utility flags and markings on the ground
\nGeneral knowledge of construction practices
\nAble to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when required
\nAble to work in a fast-paced environment
\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently
\nProficient with Microsoft Office suite<\/p>\n

Desired Skills\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
\nLoad and unload tools and equipment on the truck.
\nCoordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
\nVision including depth perception, close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.<\/p>\n

Working outdoors in the elements year-round

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs.
\nAll work is performed at remote locations; driving and sitting are required.
\nAll work is outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions.
