In our effort to support the professional development of individuals in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) community, now offers BICSI CECs for industry professionals. Effective 1/27/2017, BICSI recognizes Certified Fiber Optic Installer training for the following BICSI Continuing Education Credits (CECs).

19 BICSI Continuing Education Credits

These CECs will be posted on the BICSI website at BICSI CECs are issued ONLY to BICSI credential holders. These CECs can be used towards the renewal of BICSI certifications such as the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification. Candidates for BICSI credentials are required to show industry experience and pass rigorous exams based on the content of BICSI manuals. Those who pass must adhere to strict standards of conduct and keep their knowledge current through continuing education and recertification.

Other BISCI credentials include the following:

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®)Established in 1984, the RCDD is the most prestigious of all BICSI credentials. RCDDs have demonstrated the ability to design, integrate and implement ICT and related infrastructure components across multiple disciplines and applications.
  • Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
    ICT systems professionals pursuing excellence within the industry should consider becoming a BICSI RTPM. An RTPM demonstrates knowledge in project management concepts and tools in the ICT industry.
  • Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC)
    Established in 2011, DCDC credential holders demonstrate knowledge in various facets of data center design and the ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Outside Plant (OSP) Designer
    Established in 2001, OSP Designers demonstrate knowledge in OSP technology and the ability to design aerial, underground and direct-buried infrastructures.

How to Redeem BICSI CECs

To receive continuing education credits, you must provide BICSI’s Credentialing Department with your certificate of completion.
