CORYDON, IN – November 2, 2020 — The Fiber School has partnered with Harrison County Lifelong Learning to offer companies in Indiana a complete suite of fiber optic training courses that feature real-world hands-on labs for splicing and testing from beginner to professional. Our first co-training with Harrison County Lifelong Learning provided custom training and certification to a group of technicians from a local communication company. By partnering with Harrison County Lifelong Learning, The Fiber School is able to reach more prospective students, keep training local, and help Indiana communities grow their workforce of skilled, experienced, fiber network technicians.
The Fiber School certifies thousands of general contractors, utility workers, communications companies, service providers, and electrical contractors yearly. Fiber optic certification ensures technicians have obtained the theory, skills, and real-world knowledge necessary to competently install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic networks. Careers in fiber optic networking are on the rise due to the increasing demand for bandwidth, Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G deployment. The Fiber School has partnered with several postsecondary education and technical institutes to help deliver fiber optic training and certification, some of which also give educational credits.
